HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED TO EXERCISE
March is here...For many people the New Years Resolution enthusiasm has worn off. Some people may have returned to their unhealthy habits or have began to lose hope that they can make their resolutions stick. This is especially true for people who have set resolutions to exercise more.
If you are a regular gym goer you may have noticed that the gym has started to clear out and it is not as busy as it was in January. You may even be someone who is about to throw in the towel on your resolution to exercise more but I say...DON'T DO IT! First, read these tips on how to stay motivated to exercise.

I have covered fitness motivation topics before, this is because staying motivated during your fitness journey plays a major part in you reaching your fitness goals.
Motivation helps you to push through the urge to give up or give in. Motivation is what keeps you going to the gym when everyone else has dropped out. Motivation is what keeps you eating healthy when there are temptations all around. So let's look at some other ways you can stay motivated to exercise.
+ Be prepared.
Being prepared is a vital part of staying motivated. When you have your exercise routine planned out, your music playlist ready and workout clothes picked out, you will be more motivated to go through with your plan. The opposite is true if you didn't have a plan at all.
To prepare myself for success, I like to lay out my workout clothes the night before. This way, all I have to do is jump out of bed, throw on my clothes, brush my teeth and go. Having a cute outfit doesn't hurt either. ;)
I personally find that if I have to search around for something to wear, and rummage for socks in the dark...I may be tempted to just lay back down. So the first tip, be prepared.
+ Switch things up.
Another important way you can stay motivated to exercise is by switching up your routine. I'll be the first to admit, I am terrible at sticking to one long fitness plan. By the fourth week on one fitness plan, I am starting to get antsy and am looking for the next thing to do.
If you have been working out at a gym, switch it up and take your workouts outside. The weather is starting to improve and there is no reason we shouldn't take advantage of the great outdoors. There are so many things you can do outside just find a local park or trail and get to work!
+ Get Support.
Last but not least, get support. Surround yourself physically or virtually with people who have similar goals as you. These should be people who will motivate you to keep working toward your goal. Ignore the nay sayers and people who are trying to derail your progress.
There are several groups online that host fitness challenges and offer fitness support. Find one that you like and get plugged in!
