HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN SMOOTHIE PACKS
Hallelujah Friday! I hope you all had a blessed and wonderful week. Today I am going to share with you all the fastest "how-to" I have ever had on my site...to date at least! Here's how to make your own smoothie packs for a quick on the go snack or meal replacement.
+ Buy your favorite smoothie ingredients.
For this tutorial I used organic pre-washed kale, ripened bananas and frozen mangos. You can use whatever you like. I liked to use the bagged greens because it makes the process even faster. You will also need some zip-lock sandwich bags.
+ Divide your ingredients.
For each of these smoothie bags I used 1 cup of kale, 1/2 of the banana and about a half cup of the frozen mango. The more greens the better. The use of the fruit is really just to sweeten the smoothie, make it the flavor you want and for added fiber. The fruit is also good in a pre-workout smoothie for energy. Tip: Using ripened banana's is best if that is your fruit of choice.
+ Place all of your ingredients in a zip-lock bag.
I like to try to press all the air out before zipping up the bags. This helps with freezer burn and excessive ice build up in the packs.
+ Place the packs into your freezer until ready to use.
When ready for use pour the contents of the smoothie pack into a single serve or regular blender. Add about a cup of your favorite liquid, I personally love coconut water in mine. You can also add a scoop of your favorite protein or superfoods for a boost. Blend and enjoy!
