TIPS TO SPRING CLEAN YOUR LIFE + GIVEAWAY WINNERS

Yesterday (the first day of Spring) I woke up in a mood to clean. But not just the house also my life. Have you ever noticed that when you do a big "Spring Cleaning" or any big cleaning, in only a couple of weeks you may feel like you need to do it again?

I feel that way sometimes. I have been giving my self a few rules that help me to keep my house and life "Spring Cleaned". Check out these tips to help Spring Clean Your Life.

+ First, Don't Procrastinate.

I have been guilty of procrastinating in the past. My entire Master's program was completed with strategic procrastination. I think the fact that I still pulled off good grades only encouraged the procrastinat-or in me, however it did not help with the stress.

Instead of procrastinating I am learning to plan. Workouts, cleaning schedules and meals can be planned out on Sundays to help make the rest of the week a little more peaceful.

Also, adapting the habit of doing small tasks as you think of them can help as well. Thinking about calling mom or dad? Do it now if possible, they will be excited to hear from you and it's one thing you've checked off your list. The more little tasks you complete right away, the less you have to think about.

+ Spring clean your Email, Social Media and Apps.

Do you have every social media app on your phone and only use one or two? Do you have a million apps and games that you thought you would use or your kids downloaded to your phone and forgot about? Well delete the ones you don't use, if you decide you want to start using them later you can download them again.

Spend 5-10 minutes a day if possible going through your emails and clearing them out. You will NEVER look at my phone and see a red number sticking up from the email or text app, I can't take it! Just keeping these things in order helps me to feel more peaceful and organized. Don't wait...Start today!

Lastly, Make It A Habit.

I sometimes express to my husband that I am tired of cleaning up. He always tells me, "well it's going to be an everyday thing, so get used to it". He's right, as long as we live in our home we will always have chores to do and things to tidy up. Staying on top of these thing help keep them from getting away from us to a point where they become overwhelming.

I like to pick-up around the house everyday and we clean as a family on Saturdays before we get our day started. Having this type of routine helps keep the house in order and also provides a sense of normalcy. Every Saturday the kids know we are getting up and cleaning so it's no surprise to anyone.
