Quick and Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Most days I don't eat breakfast until about 10 am. I practice Intermittent Fasting throughout the week, so 10 am is about the time I break my fast. I usually try to have something ready to eat right at that time, so quick breakfasts are essential.

With our busy schedules, everyone needs a quick yet nutritious breakfast sometimes regardless of whether you fast or not. I've put together a list of a few of my favorite quick and healthy breakfasts.

Oatmeal with fruit and granola

1/2 Cup Gluten Free Quick Cooking Rolled Oats

1 Cup of Boiling Water

1/4 Cup of Frozen Blueberries 

2 Tablespoons of Hemp Seeds

1/4 Cup of Granola

1 Tablespoon of Honey

Place the oats and blueberries in a bowl. Pour the boiling water over the oats and berries and cover. Allow them to sit for 3 minutes. Remove cover and stir the oats. Top cooked oats with Granola and Hemp seeds then drizzle with honey.

Blueberry and Spinach Smoothie

1 Cup plain Coconut Water

1 Frozen Banana

1 Cup Baby Spinach

1/2 Cup Frozen Blueberries

1 Scoop Protein Powder (Vanilla)

Add all of the ingredients to your blender, blend, pour and enjoy

*Add additional ice/water to create the desired consistency.

Nutritional Bars and Fruit

Sometimes when I am on the go I will just grab a nutritional bar and a piece of fruit. I make sure the bars I eat are natural food bars, don't have TONS of added sugar and have only a few ingredients. Some of my favorite bars to grab are:

I like to have a banana, apple or hard boiled eggs along with the bar. I try to limit having bars to the earlier part of the day or before a workout so can use the natural sugars for energy. 

These are just a few quick breakfasts I turn to when I am in a hurry.
