5 FITNESS MOTIVATION HACKS THAT ACTUALLY WORK

We all love hacks, those little techniques that make our lives simpler. Well today I'm sharing 5 Fitness Hacks that I have found to actually work. These are some things that I do to keep my fitness routine going and keep me motivated to get my workouts in frequently.

#1. Do something you enjoy.

We are more likely to stick to a fitness routine that we enjoy. Choose something that makes you feel more like you are having fun instead of suffering. Zumba anyone? Um not me! ;) 

#2. Get an accountability partner. 

We usually want to follow through when we have someone depending on us. This also rings true for our fitness routine. If you know you have to check in with someone about your workouts, or meet someone at the gym, you will probably show up. Don't have an accountability partner? #3. Set a goal and target date.

Set yourself a goal that you want to work to achieve and a date you want to do it by. Be realistic! For instance, if you always wanted to run a 5k set that goal, find a plan to follow and schedule a race to run. Make sure you give yourself enough time to train for it, the plan you choose will usually tell you how long that is. Commit to doing all the runs in the plan to help you make it on race day.

#4. Switch things up.

Another important way you can stay motivated to exercise is by switching up your routine. I'll be the first to admit, I am terrible at sticking to one long fitness plan. By the fourth week on one fitness plan, I am  starting to get antsy and am looking for the next thing to do.

If you have been working out at a gym, switch it up and take your workouts outside. The weather is starting to improve and there is no reason we shouldn't take advantage of the great outdoors. There are so many things you can do outside just find a local park or trail and get to work!

#5. Stay Consistent.

The final hack is to stay consistent with your routine. I find that when I create a consistent fitness habit, I begin to miss it when I don't do it. Consistency really is the key to reaching your goal and creating a habit that sticks.
