My Favorite Jump Rope Workout
When was the last time you picked up a jump rope and jumped? I remember participating in "Jump Rope for Heart" in elementary school, now looking back I think they were onto something. After about 10 minutes of jump roping I am sweating and breathing hard. Who knew such a simple movement could give you such a challenge?
Jumping rope is actually a great form of cardiovascular exercise and gives you a major calorie burn in a short amount of time. Jumping rope can also be a good low impact alternative to running if you adjust your jumps accordingly.
Jump ropes are very inexpensive and you can find them at just about any sports store or Target and Walmart. Since they are so inexpensive it's basically a free workout. I love the Crossfit style ones you can find them on Amazon. ( affiliate link ) They are also small and easy to travel with so you can take one with you on vacation so you don't miss a workout!
Today I am sharing my favorite Jump rope workout with. You can do this workout anytime you want a good calorie burning workout. All you need for this workout is a jump rope, your bodyweight and some water of course. I've thrown in some strength training moves to make this workout a little more challenging.
By the time you complete this workout you will have targeted just about ever major muscle. Repeat it 4 times through and do it a few times a week to reap the full benefits. (workout disclaimer)
