MY FAVORITE MATCHA RECIPE
On most mornings I have coffee as my morning beverage of choice, but sometimes I like to switch it up and have matcha green tea. I love the rich earthy flavor of matcha as well as the heaps of benefits it provides. Usually when I am doing a coffee detox I reach for matcha as a substitute.
Matcha is:
- Packed with antioxidants including the powerful EGCg
- Boosts metabolism and burns calories
- Detoxifies effectively and naturally
- Calms the mind and relaxes the body
- Is rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins
- Enhances mood and aids in concentration
- Provides vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
- Prevents disease
- Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar

Below I'll tell you have I make my favorite matcha recipe ... bulletproof style.
Normally to make a regular matcha tea you just need the matcha powder, water and bamboo whisk. I like to add a little bit of healthy fat to mine and I use my nutribullet blender to get it all frothy and delicious.
Here is what you'll need:
1 tsp of matcha green tea ( I like to use the ceremony grade)
4-5 oz of boiling water
1 tsp of mct oil or coconut oil
1 TBSP of ghee
1 TBSP of honey or organic maple syrup (optional)
Directions: Pour the boiling water into your blender, add the matcha, then the mct or coconut oil, ghee and sweetener. Blend it until it is all mixed together. It should form a nice froth. Pour and enjoy.
I'd like to note that a personal size blender works best for this, if you have a glass one even better. My nutribullet started getting little cracks in it from using hot water in it but it didn't completely crack and I still use it for matcha and bulletproof coffee. Just something to keep in mind before doing this.
Do you drink matcha green tea?
Have a great day.
